Linda's mission is...
Good morning. Happy Saturday. Shabbat Shalom. I wanted to come on this morning and talk to you about something very powerful and important, and that is that the opposite of depression is purpose. So many of us. Are depressed, the mental health issues are at an all time high for multiple reasons.
But when we. Find our purpose and our passion, we can step out of the miserable, the miserable. I heard a rabbi once say miserable because it's all about you. What you don't have in your life, what's not going well. Self focus. Me, me, me. What's wrong? Why don't I have this? It's because we're not meant to live that way.
We are meant to. Serve others. When we're sharing our gifts with the world and we're using our God-given gifts, that's when we feel joy, fulfillment, and alignment. So I wanted to share that. The opposite of depression is finding your purpose and doing your purpose. We're not here just to exist. We are here to create, contribute, and grow.
And some people are lucky and they find this, they find it at a very young age. They discover their purpose early on and others, it takes time and that's okay. So if something feels negative, a loss, a setback, a heartbreak, sometimes that ends up becoming your purpose. It's the catapult for your purpose. So how do you find your purpose? You can ask yourself, what am I good at? What do I love to do? What lights me up? What would I do all day for free? This is partly how you decide and figure out your purpose. Um, you know, what do you enjoy? It could be walking dogs at the shelter. Like what brings you joy working with kids.
Um, your purpose could show up. You know, you could have a day job, a nine to five, and have a passion project on, on the side where you're sharing your gifts, and that's where your happiness lives, and that's perfectly fine. But in Kabbalah teaches us that we're here to grow it. It compares us to a tree.
So we're here to grow. We're here to produce, we're here to share our light, and we're here to build relationships. And a lot of us have challenges with relationships because we're not compassionate. We don't have acceptance of others. We lack, the ability to communicate.
We have. Expectations that aren't met. That's a whole other podcast.
today I wanna talk about our soul work. And when we give and we're giving our gifts to the world, that's how we find alignment. That's how we find joy. Um. You know, for me, teaching and mentoring has become my purpose. I knew in second grade I wanted to be a teacher.
I feel so blessed that I'm able to guide agents through exp Realty. I have three mentees right now. I just spoke to a colleague yesterday and she has 12. So she loves, clearly loves teaching and it's so fun. And so that's my purpose and passion is to teach coach. Even when I took an a personality test not that long ago.
It also said I'm supposed to be coaching teaching. Um, I recommend you check this out. I think it's called 16 personalities.com. I it's free too. You can go and take this test. Um, but I really wanted to just kind of talk to you about how the opposite of depression, because we are. We are here to serve, we're here to grow and we can't serve If we're self-focused and we're, you know, thinking we're not good enough or we're down on ourselves, we have to find, get out of ourselves, get away from that and go give like how many people that feel sorry for themselves on Thanksgiving because they don't have anywhere to go, but then they go and volunteer somewhere and.
Give food to maybe homeless people something like this. And they end up feeling so good on Thanksgiving instead of feeling so bad because they're by themselves and they have nowhere to go, or, you know, their family's not nearby or they don't have family. So, , I wanted to come on and talk to you about this.
So if you are feeling down or disconnected, I want you to think about. You know what would bring meaning to your life and your soul is craving purpose. Find your gifts and share them. That's where your joy lives. That is where your joy lives. Find your gifts. And like I start writing down, start journaling.
I love journaling. You can write down what do you love to do? What do you love? It can be food. I mean, whatever it is, just start journaling. Just write stuff down. Like, who are you? Right? Who are you at your core? Like for me, I love Judaism. I love God. I love, you know, nature. I love animals. I love. Physical health, mental health, find what you love.
I also love luxury and adventures and family and friends and things like that. And this podcast because I love talking to people that are amazing and I love bringing you value and I love serving in this way because . It. Brings me joy and pleasure to help others, so I just love you so much and I wanted, I was journaling this morning and doing, getting ready for, for services and I thought, I wanna get on here quickly and talk to you because some of you may feel miserable right now or feel down on yourself.
You might be in young, in your early twenties and you just haven't found your thing yet, but it's okay. I want you to know it's okay. Not everybody finds their gifts. At a young age, and some are so blessed and get it like when they're really young. I remember talking to this guy at the dog park, I think I told this story before on the podcast where he like found, he loved, , he was like a police detective or something, and he's like, I was so lucky I would've done it for free for 30 years.
He did what he loved and he's just retired now and he's like, I'm, so, I would've done it for free. So anyway, that's all I wanted to share, but. Find your purpose, find your passions, and have a beautiful, blessed day. Reach out to me anytime you can find me at Linda brand, coach on Instagram or the In Abundant on Instagram and Linda Brand Homes on Instagram with much love and much light.
Thank you for listening. Shabbat Shalom. Take care everybody.
